PROUD OF OUR PAST, COMMITTED TO OUR FUTURE
The members of The Contemporary Chorale are entertainers who love to sing, dance and perform for you. Whether we are singing Broadway, jazz, or romantic melodies, we approach the music with enthusiasm, musicality, and a high degree of professionalism. We are dedicated amateurs in the true sense of Webster’s Dictionary: “We practice our art just for the love of it.”

We have had the opportunity to perform across the metroplex for corporate functions, private clubs, meetings, and parties. We haven’t been around the world in 80 days, but in past years the group has competed in the prestigious Llangollen International Musical Eistddfod in Llangollen North Wales; toured Germany, Austria and Switzerland; and performed aboard a Royal Caribbean Cruise ship.

We are fortunate to sing under the exceptional direction of Melanie Moore who is the wind beneath our wings. Her years of experience have given her the ability to bring out the best in each of us, accentuating the positive without stressing the negative. Her expertise expands our knowledge of vocal technique with patience and humor. Without our excellent accompanist, Charmian Reap, the beat just might not go on. Keeping us moving, shaking, and feeling groovy is the job of our choreographer, Becky Fudge and her able assistant, Barbara Herteg. For major shows, Charmian is joined by the scene stealing Chorale Combo.

Weekly rehearsals begin in September, in preparation for our Christmas Program, and again in January, leading up to our annual Spring Show at the Eisemann Center. Spanning all ages and walks of life, we currently sing with abou 30 members but are always eager to recruit like-minded women who want to enjoy “friendship through music”. Sometimes we say we have “singing sisters” because over the years we have shared many personal joys and some sorrows as well. This spring, we have once again invited a group of talented men to join us for our Spring Show to expand our repertoire. For information about men or women joining us, contact Melanie Moore at 972-999-1335

The Chorale is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization that sincerely appreciates sponsorships, donations and gratefully acknowledges our grant from The City of Richardson Arts Committee. Visit us on our website www.the Contemporarychorale.com.

“Proud of our past and looking forward to our future.”
